World Poetry Day has been celebrated on March 21 since 1999, and every year it seems more and more folk in more and more countries are marking the event in some way or other.

For my part I especially like the Pay By Poetry concept, where consumers are offered the chance to pay for their goods by reciting a poem.
Two examples are the first and last of the following ten World Poetry Day stories I picked as part of The New Publishing Standard’s small contribution to marking this glorious day of celebration of the written word.
