It’s smaller than last year, but still a record. That’s the message from Kolkata, later than expected, as the Publishers and Booksellers Guild president Tridib Chatterjee reported that books worth ₹250 million ($3 million) had been sold to the 2.7 million visitors.
Last year it was 2.9 million visitors spending ₹270 million ($3.24 million), but 2025 is claiming to be a record, because last year was a fourteen day event, and this year only twelve days.
