No doubt we’ll also be hearing soon about a prediction of books about alien invasions, as the latest new-media obsession permeates the publishing industry. Let’s hope the two do not combine and result in books on positive and inclusive anal probing during alien abductions.
A rise in inclusive titles on sex and relationships? That’s according to The Bookseller, where Alice Kemp-Habib asserts:
“Literary agents and publishers are predicting a rise in sex and relationship titles over the next two years, with many forecasting a more inclusive approach to sex than has been traditionally reflected by the publishing industry.”
Harriet Poland is paraphrased as saying “a growing openness around sex has contributed to the boom in titles on the subject, highlighting the popularity of inclusive dating app Feeld as an example. The app lists more than 20 sexuality and gender options and embraces alternative relationship models.
While Claire Paterson Conrad said the rise in sex-positive podcasts such as Esther Perel’s “Where Should We Begin” and TV shows such as Netflix’s “Sex Education”, are finally permeating the publishing industry.
As so often happens, these industry predictions likely become self-fulfilling prophecies. Editors and agents respond to more and so more submissions flood in.
No doubt we’ll also be hearing soon about a prediction of books about alien invasions, as the latest new-media obsession permeates the publishing industry.
Let’s hope the two do not combine and result in books on positive and inclusive anal probing during alien abductions.
Or maybe I should pop along to ChatGPT and see if it can knock me up an anthology of short stories on same that I can stick on Amazon and get the ball rolling.
