But the record will probably fall next week. And it’s not “the” record.
ICV2 reports that a copy of Action Comics that features the first ever appearance of Superman sold for $3.4 million this past week, breaking the previous record of $3.18 million.
But another copy – said to be in even better condition – is at auction this coming week and is likely to go for even more.
The big question is whether it can beat the price paid for the first edition of the Superman comic book series, imaginatively titled Superman. Superman #1 earlier this year sold for $5.3 million.
