The 4th Iraq International Book Fair is underway

The 4th Iraq International Book Fair runs February 14 through 24 this year.

Details are sparse at the moment (the website has not been updated to reflect this year’s event) but previous incarnations have pulled in crowds of 600,000.

Organised by the General Federation of Writers and Authors of Iraq and the Association of Publishers and Booksellers in Iraq, it is reported that more than 350 publishing houses from 16 countries will be participating.

Palestine is the theme this year.

The event is not to be confused with the Baghdad International Book Fair that usually runs around September time.
