The first Vietnam Book Street was opened in Hanoi in 2017 and has over 16 bookstores.
Running December 22-29, Thu Duc City Book Street in Ho Chi Minh City offered Vietnamese citizens and tourists a week of bookish activities as HCMC’s second book street event took place.
Inspired by the river culture of the Southern region, the Thu Doc City book Street compares favourably with the established Ho Chi Minh City Book Street located on Nguyen Van Binh Street (District 1).
The week of events has now subsided, but the Book Street remains throughout the year, as a place where people can find, relax and enjoy books, and adds another unique tourist attraction for the country.
Saigon News has some great photos of the event.
