Libya – 2nd Benghazi International Book Fair just finished

The launch event last year attracted 7,000 visitors, and the organisers were hoping to beat that this year.

Postponed from October 23-31, the 2nd incarnation of the Benghazi International Book Fair ran this past week, December 10-12 with the theme “Benghazi: Culture is the Future of the Nation.”

Alongside Libyan publishers there were expected to be publishing houses from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Jordan, and Syria.

The launch event last year attracted 7,000 visitors, and the organisers were hoping to beat that this year.

As ever, news in English is sparse, and AI translation still leaves much to be desired, so if anyone knows more, do get in touch.
