With 3 million ebooks and 100,000 audiobooks available on the all-you-can-eat model from Kobo Plus, the unlimited subscription platform has finally – two years after launching in Australia and new Zealand – added audiobooks to the buffet menu.

The move flies in the face of the popular faux narrative in publishing circles that former PRH CEO Markus Dohle loves to espouse, that no-one actually wants unlimited subscription and that digital reading has been stuck at 20% of the market since its inception.
