“In the not-too-distant future, it will be difficult to imagine audio content streaming platforms that do not have a “dimo” to interact and help their users. Just as today, we cannot imagine life without computers and smartphones.”
Formerly known as Ubook, Brazil’s recently rebranded Audimo has launched dimo.ai, a ChatGPT-based feature.
CEO Flávio Osso explains in a press release:
“By talking to dimo, our users can learn or delve deeper into any subject they want, summarize books, biographies, historical facts, regardless of whether they have already been produced or not by our team. This brings infinite possibilities of learning and personal improvement to our users, not to mention the freedom to literally listen to any subject.”
Per Osso, “in the not-too-distant future, it will be difficult to imagine audio content streaming platforms that do not have a “dimo” to interact and help their users. Just as today, we cannot imagine life without computers and smartphones.”
Ubook was Brazil’s first audiobook streaming platform, launched back in 2014.
Says Osso:
“When we talked about audiobooks at that time, many laughed. Less than a decade later, it is one of the fastest-growing publishing segments worldwide.”
While those outside the Ibero-America arena (if not TNPS regulars) could be forgiven for not having heard of Ubook or Audimo, in Brazil the company dominates the audio scene with 36% market share, compared to amazon-owned Audible’s 8.8%.
